Notes - Thomas and William Lamberth both farm labourers of Chestnut England were tried at Herts Q.S. 1.10.1833 for “ stealing fowls” . They were transported to Van Diemen’s land for 7 year arriving at Hobart 11.08.1843 arriving on vessel “John Barry”.
Thomas married Jane Mills who was also convicted at Glamorganshire Assize 25.02.1841 for “stealing from the Person “. She arrived at Hobart 10.10.1841 onboard “Garland Grove”.
Thomas and jane and children John, William Henry and Emma departed Launceston on October 16th 1851 on board the Shamrock to Port Phillip and then travelled to the Bendigo goldfields settling in White hills. Thomas rented and worked a 20-acre farm at Sandy creek. His death unfortunate. He dies in March 1876 at the age of 59 as a result of injuries falling down a mine shaft. Jane dies March 19th, 1882 aged 68 and both buried at White hills.

Thomas and Jane Miles and their family departed from Launceston on the 16.10.1851 on board the ‘Shamrock” to Port Phillip ten travelled to the Bendigo goldfields and settled in White Hills. Thomas rented and worked on a farm of 20 acres at Sandy creek. He was also a cab provider at one stage. Thomas died from injuries received after falling down an abandoned mineshaft in March 1876 at age 59. Morgan James, Jane’s step brother was with them at the time of the accident).
