- William Frank Hallam was born at Balmoral on 3rd August 1888 (5610 died at Portland on 15TH February 1960 (72/21344).
William Frank came from a Protestant upbringing and when he married Catholic Mary Murray, this caused much family friction where there was hence much family emotional cutoffs.The specifics are not known other there has later been reported limited contact with his siblings/Family
William married Marguerite Daisy (aka Daisy) Ahearn who was born at "Hensley Park" Hamilton on the 9th May 1888. She worked as a governess and died at the age of 75 on the 15th April 1963. They had 5 children.

William & Mary (Mn Murray) Hallam sailed from England in 1853 arriving in Adelaide on the Magdalena ship and settled in Coleraine -Casterton district.
Mary & William were married at Bruk Bruk Fernhaugh in 1875 with great rejoicing from both families. Mary was pretty and petite wearing her hair loose and haven chosen a very special ornate gown of possibly light grey.
They settled at Turkey Bottom now called Carapark and had two sons Henry George (1877) and David Augustus 1879). Their birth place was written as Bruk Bruk though this name no longer appears on maps. Later in 1884 the Hallam family with all their possessions probably in a wagon travelled north crossing the Glenelg and arriving at Telangatuk where they took up land between Balmoral and Harrow.
They became well established and highly respected. they ran sheep and grew crops using horse drawn implements, planting fruit trees and produced their own meat, eggs and butter and some times potatoes.
Their place was open to many kinds, hawkers fro other localities , piano tuners skin buyers and stock agents.
The family loved to play the piano and other instruments and they had a pleasant Saturday evenings with neighbours.

Mary's parents and several brothers and a sister moved mostly to Telangatuk East so there were many relatives to visit in the buggy as well as friends from Neighbouring farms.
The Hallam family all moved to Cavendish in 1910. Mary and William place at Telang again became a centre of hospitality renowned throughout the district.
In 1920 Mary and William retired to live in Ballarat Rd Hamilton taking Ruby with them. They establishe a a comfortable home again with fruit trees, a large garden. a cow and hens- a home away from home for the relatives. The family loved to play the piano and other instruments and had many pleasant Saturday evenings with neighbours.
Later in the Great Depression Mary hallam gave guidance and considerable financial assistance to those of her children in need who had children of their own and experiencing great difficulties. Many swagmen came by looking for a meal and company. The Hallam's also boarded the local teacher Miss hanna from the Telangatute school.
